The Troy Police Department will be engaged in a week long selective traffic enforcement program that ends July 6th. Our primary focus will be on speeding vehicles. The intent of this program is to promote compliance and awareness of the posted speed limits, thus reducing the number of speed related accidents. Please do the right thing and observe the posted speed limit.
Just out of curiosity, Is there something that can be done about the truckers pulling out of loves truck stop. There have been several occasions where they will pull out in front of an oncoming vehicle with little regaurd for safety. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they should look both ways and yeild to the right of way. Just because they are bigger than the other vehicles, they dont rule the road.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right. All vehicles are required to come to a complete stop before exiting a private drive onto a roadway. I will pass this information on to our patrol officers so they can enforce this as time permits. Thank you for making us aware of this situation!
