On 06/19/09 an Officer with the Troy Police Department was dispatched to a violent domestic in town. Upon his arrival, the Officer found a highly intoxicated subject that was naked trying to start a fire inside his house. This subject had already soaked the floor with lighter fluid and was attempting to ignite the fluid, along with a bag of charcoal, with a lighter and a taser. Quick actions by the officer resulted in the offender being apprehended and transported to the Bell County Jail after a thorough investigation confirmed an act of family violence. It's unfortunate that things like this occur in our society. Studies have found that alcohol effects the mind. If one chooses to consume alcoholic beverages, please drink responsibly.

Something to think about!

This is a serious, not funny situation.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, Troy PD has hearts as big as Texas! Way to go; this could have been very tragic, instead, it was resolved in a positive manner, saving lives. These situations are very dangerous for both the citizen/victim and police officer when they respond to domestic violence calls. Besides traffic stops, these domestic calls are highly deadly for officers and first responders who handle these calls. Troy citizens are blessed to have such professional and caring officers to protect and serve their community. Again, great job.
Thank you cazoomgrl for your support. It is greatly appreciated!
